Patented Mortise and Tenon Site Preparation:
Our instrumentation pairs two drill bit sizes to create a square (QuadraCentric), 37 mm deep, elongated channel, 10 mm wide, allowing the TransFasten implant to cross the ilium, the sacroiliac joint, and into the sacrum, thus transfixing the sacroiliac joint.
Once drilled, you are left with 12 ridges in the channel intended to supply circumferential fixation of the implant upon insertion. This preparation aims to create bio-mechanical stability of the motion segment without the unnecessary distraction of the SI joint.
