Our Mission: Optimize SI Joint Surgical Solutions

The Catamaran™ SI Joint Fusion System offers a novel, less invasive, Inferior-Posterior approach to transfix the SI joint along the longitudinal axis with a single, robust titanium implant. Similar to SI joint injection, the Inferior-Posterior approach facilitates a direct view of the joint space inferior to the dorsal recess. The trajectory of the Inferior-Posterior approach is directed away from critical neural and vascular structures and optimizes purchase in cortical bone.

The Catamaran™ Fixation Device features two hollow, fenestrated pontoons joined by a patented osteotome bridge. One pontoon fixates into the ilium and the other into the sacrum. The pontoons are packed with autograft bone collected from the drill bit when preparing the pontoon channels. The osteotome bridge is designed to disrupt the articular portion of the joint during placement to help facilitate a fusion response. The implant's open framework facilitates bony in-growth through the SI joint.
