 Press Releases

  • SPINEART announces the acquisition of Atlanta-based Meditech Spine LLC.

The companies anticipate significant synergies between the two organizations. As part of the transaction, Meditech Spine’s co-founder and chief executive officer, Eric Flickinger, will join SPINEART’s senior management team in the US.

Meditech manufactures and markets a portfolio of sterile-packed, barcoded CURE plates and TALOS PEEK-HA cages in the US.  SPINEART manufactures and markets a comprehensive portfolio of sterile-packed, barcoded spinal posterior fixations, 3D-printed Ti-LIFE cages, artificial disc prosthesis and biologics in more than 50 countries.

  • SPINEART announces over 1,000 patients treated with SCARLET® AL-T, its ALIF system launched in 2019, in the USA. The implant was developed using the company’s flagship Ti-LIFE Technology, a titanium bone-like structure that supports bone cell adhesion and allows for bone ingrowth.

A number of design features make SCARLET® AL-T unique:  the 3D printed cages feature tunnels which prevent screw misalignment, the screws are designed with a triple lead and threaded end-tip, eliminating the need to drill or awl, and the screw anti-backout system is both tactile and visual.

The results of an in-vivo animal study will be presented by Dr J. Laratta as an abstract at the 2020 North American Spine Society virtual meeting.

  • Spineart completed an in vivo study on sheep to evaluate its proprietary Ti-LIFE Technology under physiological conditions.  At one spinal level, Ti-LIFE cages were implanted without bone graft or biological materials.  At another spinal level, PEEK cages were implanted with morselized iliac crest autograft. The Ti-LIFE interbody cages displayed quick and effective osteointegration after only 4 weeks of implantation, in contrast to the PEEK cages which exhibited no osteointegration.

Ti-LIFE structures throughout the endplates are porous and provide primary stability.  CT and mCT scans showed no osteolysis surrounding the Ti-LIFE cages, clearly displaying bone growth within the trabecular structure of the cages allowing for optimal primary stability. Formation of bone bridges within the cages’ graft windows was also detected.  Histological sections revealed the triggering of osteogenesis through endochondral and lamellar ossification processes within the cage.  In contrast, the PEEK cages exhibited peripheral osteolysis and no osteogenesis.

Ti-LIFE Technology is an enhanced algorithm for additive manufacturing of titanium cages resulting in structures with a bone-like matrix.  Ti-LIFE structures have an average pore diameter and overall porosity similar to trabecular bone, which may enable cell colonization and promote bone ingrowth.  Decreased cage density allows for optimal visualization on CT, X-ray and MRI.

 Featured Products

  • SCARLET® AL-T
    SECURED LUMBAR ANTERIOR CAGE...

  • Ti-LIFE Technology

The structure mimics the architecture of trabecular bone and is designed to promote bone ingrowth. This technology is based on a proprietary algorithm combined with a unique additive manufacturing process commonly referred to as 3D printing.

    Integrated Screw Channel

The 3 SCARLET® AL-T screws are easily inserted into the cage thanks to the 3 channels.

    High Performance Screw

The self-drilling screw design has a very sharp endtip with flutes and quadri threads which ease the insertion in the vertebra.

    One Step Cam Lock

The zero-profile one-step locking mechanism with pre-assembled cam locks prevent screw migration.

  • JULIET®Ti LL
    LATERAL Ti CAGE...

  • Ti-LIFE Technology

The structure mimics the architecture of trabecular bone and is designed to promote bone ingrowth. This technology is based on a proprietary algorithm combined with a unique additive manufacturing process commonly referred to as 3D printing.

    MIS Lateral Approach

The retroperitoneal approach through a retractor minimizes soft tissue disruption and allows large footprint interbody placement for optimal endplate coverage.

    Anatomical Shape

Anatomically shaped cages for optimal fit between endplates. 17 and 21mm widths. 0° & 8° lordoses.

    Optimal Visualization

The JULIET®Ti LL features an overall reduced density, optimizing medical imaging and postoperative evaluations.

  • JULIET®Ti OL I/R
    INSERT ROTATE Ti CAGE...

  • Ti-LIFE Technology

The structure mimics the architecture of trabecular bone and is designed to promote bone ingrowth. This technology is based on a proprietary algorithm combined with a unique additive manufacturing process commonly referred to as 3D printing.

    Insert/Rotate Technique

The JULIET®Ti OL I/R cage has been designed to be implanted by an Insert/Rotate technique, enabling the insertion of the corresponding size through a reduced space.

    Anatomical Shape

The JULIET®Ti OL I/R cage offers a better fit with the anatomy of a patient, which may result in greater implant-bone contact.

    Optimal Visualization

The JULIET®Ti OL I/R features an overall reduced density, optimizing medical imaging and postoperative evaluations.

  • PERLA®
    CERVICAL FIXATION...

  • Low Profile Implants

Low profile screw head is designed to minimize anatomical interferences.

    Friction Head

Screw head is designed to keep the desired position.

    Self-tapping Screw Tip

Two cutting flutes enable the screw to be self-tapping.

    Polyaxial Screw

60° polyaxiality of the screw head accommodates alignment discrepancies.

    Preferred Angle Medio-Lateral

60° polyaxiality of the screw head accommodates alignment discrepancies, while a 45° preferred angulation in the Medio-Lateral plane eases rod capturing.

    Preferred Angle Cranio-Caudal

60° polyaxiality of the screw head accommodates alignment discrepancies, while a 45° preferred angulation in the Cranio-Caudal plane eases rod capturing.

    Smooth Shank Screws

The smooth part of the screw shank limits the risk of soft tissue irritation.

  • SCARLET® AC-T
    CERVICAL SECURED CAGE...

  • Secured Cage

The screws allow stabilization of the device. The screw head is micro-threaded and has conical shape. This feature secures the screw controlling potential risk of expulsion once locked into the cage.

    Zero Profile

The screw heads are completely integrated in the cage. Implantation of a zero-profile implant has shown to reduce the incidence rate of dysphagia.

    Simplicity of Use

The SCARLET® AC-T system combines in one implant interbody device and cervical plate. The profile of the implant allows for an anatomical fit between endplates. The SCARLET® AC-T system offers a lordotic option of 7°.

    Titanium

The device features a large graft window. The titanium sandblasted surfaces of the implant facilitate primary stability.
